My Story

My name is Garvis Leak, President, Paradigm Life - Life Coaching.

I was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, My parents (James/Marie Leak) had 8 children. I am the only boy (7 sisters) My family moved several times, during my childhood (Projects - Happy Hill Garden, Country (Midway N.C.) and Intercity.

I spent the summers in Midway with my grandparents and family. My grandfather and uncles/aunts raised tobacco. They showered me with love (agape love), importance of family and leaning on GOD. I learned the importance of hard work, dedication, loyalty and being a responsible person at an early age.

After graduation from high school (North Forsyth), I enrolled at Livingstone College ( HBCU-Salisbury N.C.) My major was Business Management. My professors and school administrators were always enforcing education and making a difference in your life and others. The wisdom, that was bestowed upon me, I will always treasure.

After graduation from Livingstone College, I was unable to find decent employment in my career, so I decided to enlist in the Air Force.

I entered the Air Force in Nov 1984, following personnel technical school training at Kessler AFB MS, my first duty assignment was Langley AFB VA as an Evaluations Manager. I held many different jobs in the personnel career field. A core Personnelist (human resource).

I have worked in all sections/facets of the Consolidated Base Personnel Office/Military Personnel Flight/Commander’s Support Staff and Air Force Personnel Center. My family and I served 13 years overseas (Germany, Japan, Turkey) and I deployed several times during my career ( Kosovo, Australia, Korea, Sarajevo Italy, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan) One of my last duty position in the Air Force. I held the position - Superintendent, Military Personnel Flight, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and Ohio. A great way of life and truly a blessing.

After retiring in Feb 2011, I worked as a Director of Sales for a small publishing company and local contractor at Wright Patterson Air Force Base; however my true calling and purpose in life was totally different (Teacher, Coach, and LifeCoach)
